From Abandoned Daughter to Master of Ancient Agriculture

Su Qinghe, a top student at an agricultural university in the twenty-first century, dies in an accident when a faulty instrument gives her an electric shock while she is sequencing genes for salt- and alkali-tolerant rice in the lab. Her soul is reborn in the body of a farm girl in an impoverished ancient village who shares her name. The original girl's mother died young. After her father remarried, she became a thorn in the side of her stepmother, Wang. Every day, she was forced to do the hardest work, fed scraps and leftovers, and dressed in old clothes patched over and over. The slightest mistake earned her a beating and a scolding. Three days ago, her stepsister, Su Lan'er, deliberately pushed her into a river. The original girl was left burning with fever and close to death, and only then did modern-day Su Qinghe awaken in her body. When Su Qinghe wakes, she finds herself in a frail body covered in old and new bruises. She faces the malice of a cruel stepmother, her stepsister's deceitful schemes, and a miserable fate as a “bargaining chip for a bride price.” But she is no longer the submissive girl who once bore it all. Armed with modern agricultural knowledge and the cool resolve of someone who has faced death, Su Qinghe quietly makes up her mind: first, heal her body; then, learn the lay of the land; finally, change her fate with her own hands. Even in an impoverished place, land and knowledge are all she needs to break out of this suffocating predicament and carve out a different path for herself. And her rebirth is destined to set this poor village abuzz, all because of Su Qinghe.
