The Great Engineer: Saving the Empress with Skill

The new emperor of the Dafen Dynasty is a puppet ruler by day, with power slipping from the throne. By night, she becomes a female ghost haunting the inner palace, secretly searching for a chance to turn the tables.

At court, the chief eunuch and the grand secretary collude to control the government. They offer farmers generous benefits to win their loyalty and secure their grassroots support, while ruthlessly suppressing engineering talent. Beneath the imperial latrine lies a secret passage to the royal vault, "Jiangxin," where the Xuanji Token can be used to command the imperial guards. To keep skilled craftsmen from breaking through and seizing the token, the two men set a trap under the guise of recruiting artisans, intending to wipe out every craftsperson in the land.

The roots of this disaster go back to the previous emperor's reign, when the aristocratic clans framed a general of peasant origins. Their scheme also led to the death of a peerless craftsman, breaking the artisans' hearts and bringing about the decline of the aristocracy. Now the aristocratic clans have returned, determined to finish what they started and eradicate their enemies.

The empress placed her hopes in the eunuch, but to no avail. In the end, she used "repairing the imperial latrine" as bait to draw in Yang San, a transmigrator. Thus began a battle of wits and power revolving around the imperial latrine. Yang San will lead ambitious eunuchs in breaking through class barriers, help the empress reclaim her power, and restore justice to the dynasty.
