Silver Nerves

In New Ark City, memories are both currency and the deadliest weapon. Seventy years ago, the “Great Silence” erased digital civilization, leaving the human mind as the last archive.

Ling Yan, once a promising memory architect, is now a notorious “Echo Hunter” in the lower city. He dives into other people’s shattered memories to hunt down dangerous “Echoes” capable of driving their Host insane, all to afford the costly medicine keeping his younger sister alive. His world is woven from other people’s pasts and his own regrets.

A job from the upper city shatters his decaying routine. The only son of the founder of Hippocampus Corporation has vanished without a trace, and the sole clue is hidden in his lover’s chaotic memories. Ling Yan thinks it will be a well-paid infiltration job, but in the depths of memory, he encounters an “Erosion Echo” that should not exist. As powerful as a phantom, this Echo points not only to a forbidden experiment that has been covered up, but also to the hidden truth behind his sister’s coma.

As the boundary between reality and memory begins to dissolve, Ling Yan must unmask the mastermind lurking behind countless memories before his mind is consumed completely. He must face not only the city’s dark heart, but also the abyss within himself that he has always tried to bury.
