The Strange Journey of Saint Dai Through Journey to the West and Dream of the Red Chamber

[Sheng-Dai CP + Sun Wukong + Lin Daiyu + a new Wood-and-Stone Alliance + fate] The Crimson Pearl Immortal Grass stumbles into a fateful match and takes the form of Lin Daiyu, carrying a lifetime's debt of tears into the Rongguo Mansion. She spends her days in the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, lulled by the scent of medicine, watching Baoyu, the reincarnation of the Divine Maid Attendant, act recklessly and pursue romance. Yet in her moments of bewilderment, she always feels an inexplicable familiarity toward the green-robed stranger who suddenly appears. Now stripped of the halo of the Victorious Fighting Buddha, Sun Wukong watches her weep over a misplaced “debt of love.” To undo this absurd entanglement, he willingly cuts out the heart of his five-colored stone, paying with the dissolution of his soul to free her from the fate of “dying when her tears run dry.” The beautiful things that seem close yet remain out of reach, Wukong's blunt nature and Lin Daiyu's tendency to torment herself: together, they spark something unexpected. From peach blossoms falling like rain at the Rongguo Mansion to ten miles of peach groves on Flower-Fruit Mountain, from a sickbed where she weeps into a handkerchief to the smiling face of an immortal with a golden hairpin in her hair, this strange dream, crossing the worlds of immortals and mortals and weaving together Journey to the West and Dream of the Red Chamber, ends amid a sky full of peach blossoms: So this is what fate means. No matter how many times I forget, no matter who you become, I'll find you again, turn every tear you shed into sweetness, and let you become your true self. Among three thousand streams, I'll drink from only one.
