Beneath the Radiance

[Urban] [Unique] [Romance] [Growth] [Healing]

Chen Jing, an ordinary office worker, meets Shi Yi at an art exhibition dinner. Shi Yi is a striking individual, with a sharply shaved head and features so chiseled they seem carved from stone. Most eye-catching of all are the bright red patent-leather high heels he always wears. As those around them stare and whisper, Chen Jing feels as if he has encountered another version of himself.

He approaches Shi Yi and tries to strike up a conversation. Shi Yi responds with an instinctive wariness and sharp edge, but Chen Jing sees straight through them to the sensitivity and loneliness beneath. An inexplicable, profound connection that transcends outward appearances quietly takes root. The shame and pressure Shi Yi has borne for years over being "different" are, for the first time, brought into the light by Chen Jing's complete acceptance.

Their relationship gradually deepens through tentative steps and clashes. They move from awkward conversation to mutual trust, from keeping their distance to understanding one another. The story explores what happens when two people with striking differences meet and discover a fateful sense of deja vu: how tenderness can ease their shame, and how a love beyond society's standards can quietly grow. The red high heels that never come off become the most steadfast and tender testament to this extraordinary encounter.

This is a healing journey about acceptance and self-identity. It tells the story of two unique souls meeting and growing in the city, and how they break through prejudice to find their true selves and each other.
