Contract Spirit Immortal

Lu Chen, a youth from Fallen Leaf Village, ventured into the Blackwind Forest, a forbidden place, to gather sunward fern and save his gravely ill mother. Deep in the forest, he unexpectedly heard someone calling for help. Following the sound, he found an elf named Lily trapped by soul-devouring brambles. Her body glimmered faintly as the brambles drained her energy, and she was on the verge of fading away.

Though Lu Chen was just an ordinary person with no ability to form contracts, he couldn't stand by and let her die. His attempts to cut through the brambles with a hatchet failed. When he learned that the only way to save Lily was to shatter the black energy core at the brambles' roots, he threw caution to the wind and charged toward the crystal, enduring the brambles' frenzied attacks. At the critical moment, Lily burst into white light to buy him time. Lu Chen finally smashed the crystal and ended the crisis.

Lily thanked Lu Chen for rescuing her. A bond forged by an unexpected rescue began to take root, and from that moment, Lu Chen's life took an unknown turn because of his encounter in the Blackwind Forest.
