My Years as a Troll in the Hongwu Dynasty

Wu Ming, a top project manager who had been caught in the modern rat race, wakes up as a newly appointed jinshi in the first year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty.

In the Hall of Golden Chimes, his remark that "silver currency is the way forward" nearly gets him drowned in the spittle of old Confucian scholars. But his next pitch, "The Seven Steps of Project Management," unexpectedly hits just the right spot with Zhu Yuanzhang.

And so, the office drone lands a new offer: the Ming Censorate, as a supervising censor, seventh rank!

Main duties: roast people (scratch that)... impeach wrongdoers and set the court straight.

Workplace environment: Huai Xi nobles with hard fists, Jiangnan civil officials with venomous pens, and colleagues who are all professional arguers.

Ultimate KPI: Stay alive while firing off complaints nonstop.

And so, the Hongwu court gains an oddball who never stops making snarky remarks:

Impeaching nobles? "Boss, this is the third PPT this month about servants committing violence. I've attached data charts. I recommend optimizing your household servant management process!"

The treasury is short on funds? "Your Majesty, there's a silver mine in neighboring Japan! The sea ban? Uh... that's a long-term plan. For now, I recommend piloting a silver-based version of the Single Whip Reform!"

Treating Empress Ma? "Ventilation! Disinfection! Dietary restrictions! Imperial Physician, ever heard of bacteria?"

Preventing smallpox? "Second Miss Xu, would you be so kind as to let me touch your hand? What? Why am I touching you? Come on, if I get vaccinated with cowpox and die, after all this time together, I haven't even held your hand. What a waste."

Trading barbs at court? "Can't make them see reason? Then this official knows a thing or two about fighting, too! (Rolls up his sleeves.)"

This is a fun story of a modern office worker tearing through the Hongwu era, courting death while trying to survive, changing the world along the way, and complaining like crazy, all through ridiculous but effective methods!
