He bears the name Xiao He, carrying a soul and knowledge from more than a thousand years in the future. In this founding age of Huaxia, he intends to wield his brush and compose a grand anthem of national strength. Little does he know that history's script has already been secretly altered. What awaits him is not only the treacherous political struggle at court, nor Empress Lu's cold, inscrutable gaze, but also a sinister force lying dormant beneath the empire's very skin, born from an ancient sea of stars.
The sparks of technology collide with enigmatic relics, forcing a gifted statesman to take up the blade of survival. The blast furnaces forge not only steel tempered a hundred times, but also fangs for the desperate. Mohist mechanical arts seek not only to reject aggression and conserve resources, but also to build the last barrier against the indescribable. Mount Li's Mausoleum of the First Emperor conceals not only imperial ambition, but also a terrifying passage linked to another world. The depths of Yunmeng Marsh hold more than misty expanses: they also carry the bloodcurdling warnings of ancient watchers.
This is no simple retelling of known history, but a desperate battle to the death on the precipice of time. The familiar sun and moon of the Han realm may turn in an instant into a twisted green hell. Comrades who stood shoulder to shoulder may become mindless corpses that devour everything. Faced with the ultimate test of civilization's survival, the dream of a powerful nation seems more urgent than ever, yet so very small.
See how this soul from another world fights his way across a broken chessboard, wielding knowledge as a spear and conviction as a shield. Between the ruins of an empire and the whispers of the star sea, he will carve out a bloody path to the future and establish a new order: Xiao He's Law.
When I opened this novel, I thought it was just an ordinary story wandering, but as the pages turned, I was dragged into a lively and soft world by the author's delicate writing style. When the protagonist is pulled between ideals and reality, the clothes he clenches tightly at his fingertips and the glimmer in his eyes when he drinks alone late at night are all portrayed so deeply, as if he will come out of the text in the next second and sit across from you to tell his thoughts. The plot is even more cleverly laid out. There is no deliberately bloody conflict, but there are touching foreshadowings hidden in the daily details. After every Min finished reading, the wind outside the window seemed to carry the warmth of the world in the book, which made people unable to help but recall - it turns out that good stories never take you away from reality, but help you see the more precious world in the ordinary.
It's such a beautiful novel, with concise and sharp writing, compact plot, and not sloppy at all! I highly recommend it!!!!
