More Than Friends, Not Quite Lovers

Jiang Xue is a typical Leo girl: an excellent student from childhood, proud and passionate by nature. She lives boldly and pursues whatever she wants, but experiences the most painful youth imaginable.

Throughout high school, she stands at the top of the academic world, earning her teachers’ favor and her classmates’ admiration. Her three years are filled with both sweetness and sorrow, but graduation brings her the most devastating blows. Only after the fact does she realize she has fallen for the boy who spent all three years by her side, Shen Xian. But on graduation night, he successfully confesses to another girl, Lin Wei. She seeks an answer to the promise she made three years ago with the boy she once liked, Gao Fang, only to hear that he never liked her, not for a single moment. That summer, he gets together with her best high school friend, Ming Zhu... Then the college entrance exam results come out, and she performs disastrously, missing out on the university she had set her heart on.

She goes to Beijing for school simply to escape the place that broke her heart, since Shen Xian, Gao Fang, and Ming Zhu have all gone to Wuhan. One night during military training, Shen Xian tells her that spending the summer with Lin Wei made him realize they weren’t right for each other, and they’ve broken up. He also tells her that he had once been ready to confess to Han Jiangxue, but she had pushed him into the role of a buddy, which was how things with Lin Wei began. Han Jiangxue thinks they still have a chance, but in their first year of college, they are separated by thousands of miles. They miss each other again and again, and one coincidence after another keeps them from meeting even once.

The volunteer teaching trip during the summer after freshman year destroys the last possibility between them. Han Jiangxue turns down the advances of a senior in her second year, because her heart already belongs to Shen Xian. But Shen Xian falls in love with a girl he meets on the teaching trip. Three years and all those missed chances cannot compete with one month.
