Love Across the Void

Virtual Love tells the story of an ordinary programmer, Lu Ming, who accidentally touches a mysterious line of code and is drawn into a realm of consciousness called the “Void Realm,” a multidimensional world spanning reality and the void. Here, shattered memories, tangible emotions, and wandering consciousnesses intertwine. Lu Ming forms a connection with Ling Xi, a mysterious woman he meets in the Void Realm, through a hazy shared memory. Their consciousnesses seem to have resonated in another time and place, only to be torn apart by the chaotic currents of the void.

Lu Ming gradually discovers that the Void Realm originates in humanity’s unnoticed collective subconscious, and that Ling Xi’s identity is closely tied to its turmoil. She is both the “anchor” sustaining its balance and the target of the “Force of Nothingness,” which seeks to devour reality. To recover his complete memories and stop the Void Realm from collapsing and consuming reality, Lu Ming searches the real world for ancient clues about the realm, while he and Ling Xi stand together in the realm of consciousness to fight the shadows born from nothingness.

As they go, the two grow closer at the boundary where reality and illusion intertwine. Their feelings deepen through their resonating consciousnesses, but they also face the ultimate test: “a merging of consciousness may cause individual identities to vanish.” They must not only resist the erosion of nothingness but also uncover the secret connection between the Void Realm and the origins of human civilization. In the end, as they protect both worlds, they must choose what their existence means across the boundary between reality and illusion.
