Disband the National Team, and We'll Lift the World Cup

The Soul of Longguo Soccer: From Village Super League Wild Boy to World Champion (Working Title)

The story is set after the Longguo men’s national team fails to qualify for the World Cup. Fans protest, the media denounce the team, and multiple government departments jointly announce the dissolution of the old Football Association and national team. Former Asian Footballer of the Year Fan Jianjun, modeled on General Fan, is appointed to form a new association. With “soccer for everyone, rebuild from the grassroots” as its core principle, it rolls out league reforms, establishing regional promotion leagues such as the Su Super League, Yue Tide League, and Gan Tide League, alongside the Village Super League, and introduces cross-department support policies. Ultimately, Han Yu, a grassroots player from the countryside, leads Longguo to lift the World Cup trophy, making up for the decades of lingering regret among Longguo fans.

- Cross-department policies take effect: The Ministry of Education introduces a “soccer civil-service examination system.” Players are ranked as Child Scholars (promising newcomers in school leagues), Juren (key players in regional leagues), Jinshi (stars of the national league), and Hanlin Scholars (national team candidates), with each rank bringing corresponding admissions benefits. Soccer talent can earn 20 additional points on the high school entrance exam or eligibility for a guaranteed place at a top university. The Federation of Industry and Commerce requires companies to offer soccer-talented students benefits such as “paid training and priority employment for family members.” The military establishes a “special soccer recruitment channel,” through which talented recruits can be promoted directly to non-commissioned officer upon enlistment, while those who earn military honors receive the “Longguo Soccer Medal.” The Ministry of Public Security introduces a “reduced sentence for playing soccer” policy, allowing incarcerated people with soccer talent to join prison teams, with outstanding players eligible for shorter sentences.

With the whole nation working as one, everyone unites to make up the final missing piece in the rejuvenation of the nation and finally realize the dream! At the requester’s insistence, every country name has been changed to “Longguo.”
