All right, we tried. The answer is no.
Humanity was almost wiped out. The global population plummeted from 8.1 billion to one-thousandth of its former size. Fortunately, the Galactic Administration discovered that there were insectoids and intelligent life in the Solar System, and sent a rescue team to save the surviving people of Earth. The remaining humans thus became interstellar refugees.
But as a martial artist, I didn’t stop moving forward. I worked hard to make my mark in the universe. And I discovered that my new master has quite a background!
