I'm Shen Qingwu, a modern history student who transmigrates into the role of a study companion at Nishan Academy. My goal is clear: get close to Ma Wencai so I can stay alive and live happily. Thanks to my foreknowledge of the Butterfly Lovers plot, I help Zhu Yingtai avoid danger and stand out in class, but I also make Ma Wencai repeatedly question my gender. He goes from looking at me coldly to secretly protecting me, then struggles with himself after falling for me in my "male disguise."
After I confess that I'm a woman, he joyfully declares his love, refuses to marry Zhu Yingtai for my sake, and helps me stage Zhu Yingtai's death so she can escape. In the end, he overcomes every obstacle to marry me and cherishes me like a treasure. By transmigrating, I change Ma Wencai's fate and find a love that gives us both a happy ending.
