His Ship, Her City

When her coworkers mocked her for having a hoarding problem, Gu Ci, a levelheaded logistics planner, simply reinforced her apartment’s front door.

They laughed at her for being paranoid, right up until a colossal wave swallowed the city and the apocalypse arrived.

Overnight, the bustling metropolis became a murky sea. In the water, the “Drowned,” infected by an ancient fungus, began hunting every living thing. With her apartment crammed full of supplies, Gu Ci became the sole queen of an island amid the steel jungle.

But no island can last forever. The only way out lies in the hands of Lu Zhou, a defiant former coast guard captain.

He has a boat. She has the goods.

A deal in which both sides have their own agenda binds together two people whose paths should never have crossed. He scoffs that her plans are too naive; she thinks he acts recklessly and impulsively.

With mutated fungal monsters hunting them from behind and ruthless human gangs circling ahead, these former adversaries, who went from loathing each other to fighting side by side, must not only carve out a path through this drowning world, but also resist the most ill-timed attraction taking root in their hearts.

This is a story about stockpiling, survival, conquest, and redemption.

See how a coolheaded, rational queen of hoarders builds a kingdom of her own amid the murky waves of the apocalypse!
