Lin Jianjun, an ordinary modern-day office worker, transmigrates by accident to 1960, into a famine-stricken village in northern China. He becomes a teenage boy with the same name, on the verge of starving to death. He is bound to the “Survival Mutual Aid System,” a portable space that can store items and comes with a small patch of fertile black soil for accelerated planting and a miniature circulating water source for raising fish and shrimp. The System's tasks focus on keeping his family alive and making sure they can eat a little better, with rewards tied to food and survival supplies.
