DNA: Heir to a Financial Empire

Lin Xiaoman, an abandoned baby from a hospital, grew up sheltered by the warmth of her adoptive parents, only to face relentless discrimination at a state-owned enterprise because of her humble background. A secret letter from her dying adoptive mother revealed her shocking origins: she was the orphaned child of the heirs to the Lin and Gu conglomerates, two families locked in a generations-long feud. When her biological father began searching for her amid a succession crisis and her biological mother’s family made a forceful bid to claim her, a DNA report placed her on the throne as heir to both families7. Once she had power in her hands, she returned to her former workplace as an investor, sent the leaders who had once suppressed her to prison, and made the colleagues who had ostracized her suffer the consequences under institutional sanctions. Her path to revenge was fraught with danger: family elders laid a blood-soaked trap6, her first love turned out to be an undercover agent in a business war, and the truth led to a century-old conspiracy to silence her biological parents after a nuclear leak9. When she blew up the ancestral tomb’s dragon vein, a symbol of the families’ feud, and sought atonement through a charity foundation, she finally came to understand the truth before the Dunhuang murals: the lone girl who walks against the light will ultimately forge herself into a source of light that pierces the darkness5
