Singing as Yuheng Treads the Path

If the women confined within those mansions had the good fortune to witness the biting chill and proud solitude beyond the frontier, the rivers of Qingyan City winding through its streets and nourishing the life along their banks, and the vast desert, where the long moon hangs high in the night sky and its light spills across a golden sea of sand like a dream, would they still confine their lives to that tiny world, competing for a little favor? Would they still take pride in some petty vanity before them and spend the rest of their days numb and ignorant?

I know that a woman’s world should not be bound. We have the same right to pursue our dreams and explore the world. The scheming and rivalries inside those mansions seem so insignificant beside this vast world. Women should look toward the distance, embrace a broader world, and write their own remarkable stories, rather than spend their lives trapped in narrow household intrigues.
