One Trial Short of the Eighty-One Trials, So Let's Visit the Kingdom of Women Again

After transmigrating into the role of Tang Monk and journeying west for fourteen years, he completes his merit, only for the Tathagata to make things difficult for him in front of everyone. “Xuanzang, your tribulations are not yet complete. You still lack one trial, and your merit is insufficient. You will not be granted Buddhahood!” As the gods and Buddhas across the heavens wait to watch him break down and beg, the overworked Tang Xuanzang smiles. “Ding! Host detected experiencing workplace gaslighting. Reverse Merit System activated!” “Option One: Kneel and beg for mercy, pleading with Buddha to show kindness.” “Option Two: Hang yourself at the entrance to Spirit Mountain and scare Buddha to death!” “Option Three: Pretend to accept the order, return to the Kingdom of Women, and complete the final trial!” “Buddha, since my merit is insufficient, this humble monk will go complete that final trial.” “Wukong, Bajie, Wujing, let's go!” Buddha: “???” He turns around and returns to the Kingdom of Women, where he becomes a carefree royal consort. The queen is ruthless and decisive when dealing with the outside world, but at home she turns into a sweet, adoring fangirl: “Royal Brother, does eating this really keep you young forever?” “Don't talk. Keep eating.” “Mmmph...” Years later, as the gods and Buddhas weep and beg Tang Xuanzang to return to the Buddhist fold, he is lounging in the sun with the queen in his arms. “Can't be helped. They forced me into it.” “Buddha said I was one trial short of completing my merit. Turns out I was only missing this tremendous stroke of fortune.” “Looks like the old man really does understand me best.”
