The First Emperor and the Polar Bear: Lost in Time

[Unhinged story, female-oriented, stay away if it's not your thing]

Qin Shi Huang and the polar bear, friendship-only pairing.

He is the ruler of Qin. It is the lord of the Arctic.

He can understand the language of beasts, but not the hearts of animals.

It can speak with him, but it cannot communicate with him.

That year, it said, “If I get the chance, I'll take you to see the aurora in the far north.”

He buried his face in its neck and said, “Then I'll take you to see the fireworks in the capital.”

Later, it saw the fireworks, but they were set off by him for someone else.

He saw the aurora, but it was beside its grave.
