From the Start, I Married Eight Wives

Synopsis of From the Start, I Married Eight Wives

The female emperor Xiao Ruoli had only recently ascended the throne of the Great Qian Dynasty when natural disasters struck at home and war threatened from abroad. With the number of men dwindling, the government even began forcing young men from poor families to take wives. Disguised as an ordinary person, she went looking for a way to save the nation, but a flash flood swept away her guards. She and her maid became refugees, wandering for half a year without finding anyone willing to marry them.

Sixteen-year-old orphan Chen Xuan was dragged by the authorities to a wedding site to avoid being drafted. At the crucial moment, the “All Things Enhancement System” suddenly announced: “Marry eight women and start a new life!” Ignoring the objections of the village chief and his second uncle, he brought home eight “unsellable” women, including the female emperor, to his ramshackle hut.

The rice jar was empty? The System taught him to make spears and hunt, while strengthening his body. Making a living was hard? With the System’s help, he caught fish, made nets, sold crawfish, and opened a restaurant, raking in a fortune. The chaos of war threatened? He smelted refined iron, forged weapons, and formed a cavalry to protect his village and family.

The female emperor remained hidden among them. Watching him stir up a storm despite being an ordinary man, she realized he was the extraordinary savior she had been seeking. When the conscription order arrived, Chen Xuan took his secret weapons to the battlefield. From a country boy to a fearsome general, and from a wealthy merchant to the man who helped the female emperor purge the court and repel foreign threats, watch as he builds his rise against the odds on the foundation of his eight wives and the power of the System!
