I Signed In at the Ghost Market and Lie Flat My Way into Becoming the City God’s Priestess

The heroine, Su Yaoyao, travels to the fictional ancient county of Qingqiu and becomes a female coroner whom her clan regards as an “ill omen.” Her mother died in childbirth, her father passed away early, and she is ostracized. She serves as the foil to her cousin, Su Qingyue, a gifted female doctor known as a “living bodhisattva.” After activating the Underworld Sign-in System, she signs in every day at supernatural locations such as ghost markets and mass graves, earning merit, ghost power, and items like soul-guiding lanterns and soul-crossing talismans. She can speak with ghosts and help them clear their names. Along the way, she meets Shen Huaijin, a talkative salt peddler who is actually a sealed nightmare mage. Together, they solve supernatural cases, including a wronged bride’s death and a child ghost searching for its family. As her merit rises, the System upgrades, promoting her from “Apprentice Ghost Constable” to “City God of Qingqiu.” Meanwhile, Lin Xiuyuan, a psychologically twisted antagonist who courts Su Qingyue and envies the heroine’s abilities, repeatedly frames her. The heroine uses the System to fight back and eventually becomes a “Female City God,” protecting Qingqiu County and living happily with the male lead.
