Lost Among the Peak Isles

Players are forcibly dragged into all kinds of horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and mystery instance worlds. They must complete missions issued by the System to survive and earn points and rewards. Failure means being erased, or something worse, such as becoming an instance NPC or suffering mental corruption. Those chosen come from every corner of the real world, and death, near-death experiences, or specific triggers are the main ways they are pulled in. Players can form teams, but betrayal and competition are fierce. Points can be exchanged for survival supplies, weapons, skills, physical enhancements, and even brief breaks from the instances. There is an "Abyss Shop." Where did the System come from? What is its purpose? Is there really a way to escape? Does a resistance organization exist?
