[A collection of Nietzsche's important works, a classic translation by Zhou Guoping, which has been a best-seller for nearly 40 years since its publication. The theme fits the times and is closely related to everyone.
"The Birth of Tragedy" is one of five books in a series of Nietzsche's classic works translated by Zhou Guoping. It is Nietzsche's first officially published work and one of his famous masterpieces. In this book, Nietzsche pioneered the theory of dualistic artistic impulses of Apollonian and Dionysian. While conducting an aesthetic discussion on Greek art, he completed his thinking on the meaning of life. This book is not only the birthplace of Nietzsche's philosophy, but also the premise for understanding all of Nietzsche's aesthetics and philosophy. In addition, Nietzsche also criticized the modern culture characterized by Socratic scientific optimism. From this point of view, Nietzsche began his pioneering and subversive journey in the history of Western thought.
The translator Zhou Guoping translated the book from the original German more than 30 years ago. For this reprint, he revised the entire manuscript and wrote an introduction to explain the basic ideas of the original work for readers' reference.
