The story takes place around 2003. After failing her college entrance exams, a country girl from a rural village travels alone to Dongguan to find work. On the bus, she meets a kind older man, and in Dongguan she encounters Auntie Yang, a prostitute. She enters an entertainment club and finds herself at a crossroads in life: turn right or turn left?
