Boonie Bears: A Love Story on Snowy Ridge: Bramble and Tuantuan

Dog Bear Ridge is experiencing a rare warm winter. As the snow melts, it reveals a stone stele carved with the paw prints of “Xiong Er” and “Duanzi.” Seeing it, Xiong Er is swept into memories. Ten years earlier, the young bear had fled into the snowy mountains to escape Xiong Da’s “discipline” and accidentally rescued little Duanzi from a hunter’s trap. At the time, Duanzi had yet to reveal his identity as a mountain god. The two spent a brief but precious time together in the secret mountain refuge. Xiong Er fed Duanzi wild fruit, and Duanzi showed Xiong Er ice flowers that glowed. Xiong Er drove away a pack of wolves to protect Duanzi, and Duanzi warmed Xiong Er with his body heat when he was frozen stiff. When they parted, little Duanzi gave Xiong Er a stone flecked with ice crystals, which later became their token, and promised, “When it snows, meet me at the old place.” Xiong Er’s longing for Duanzi grew stronger. He often stared at the ice-crystal stone, lost in thought, prompting Xiong Da to tease him for having “improper thoughts.” When Guangtou Qiang happened to mention a recent rumor about a “glowing white bear” in the snowy mountains, it rekindled Xiong Er’s desire to search for Duanzi, and he decided to head back to the mountains.
