Chronicles of the Hongmeng Dao Lineage

When chaos first opened, the contest between the Dao and the heart had already written fate. Hongjun used the Creation Jade Disc to set the order of heaven and earth, while Bodhi held the Heartlight Mirror to reveal the true nature of all beings. Where the two sages’ palm lines crossed, Pangu’s axe had cleaved not only chaos, but also the thousand-year struggle between order and freedom.

The Three Pure Ones founded their sects, giving this contest tangible form in the fires of war among mortals. The boundary between immortals and mortals drawn by Yuanshi’s jade ruyi could not block the path of cultivation for outsiders, protected by Tongtian’s Green Duckweed Sword. The golden pills refined in Laozi’s Eight Trigrams Furnace quietly brought together the hard and the yielding amid the shadows of hoes and oxen. The bloodshed on the Investiture Platform had barely faded when the souls of Jiejiao became stars. The Mirror of All Spirits carried west by the Daoist Duobao would eventually bloom on Vulture Peak as the Buddhist radiance of “all beings can become Buddhas.”

The Stone Monkey is the most vivid proof of this unfolding. The wild nature born from a shard of the Heartlight Mirror was tempered beneath the ruler in the Crescent Moon and Three Stars Cave. Five hundred years beneath Five Finger Mountain taught the Golden Cudgel to find balance between the fury of the Sea-Calming Needle and the character for “heart.” When the tightening spell carved a bloody mark of enlightenment into him, the Stone Monkey finally understood: the way of the Dao was never a choice between one side and the other. It was the completeness reflected in every heart when the Jade Disc and the Mirror joined as one.

From the war between the Lich Clans that stained Mount Buzhou with blood to the three teachings swearing an alliance to protect the Three Realms, the epic spanning a hundred chapters lays out an eternal answer: the Dao and the heart share the same source. Every opposition is only a prelude. When Hongjun and Bodhi clasp hands among the clouds, all beings will at last hear, in the rhythm of their own hearts, the echo from the depths of the primordial chaos: “The Dao is the heart.”
