The Pendulum of Time

Soft science fiction, an ensemble, multi-perspective episodic novel. Not a wish-fulfillment story.

Time is a pendulum that swings eternally, and in every era, someone tries to move its hands.

When the light of Beta Orionis suddenly goes out, six young people are unexpectedly drawn into a contest spanning time and space. The mysterious metal fragments they touch are remnants of a “time anchor,” an ancient device that holds the worldlines together. Guided by a clockmaker, they discover that every era has its own “clock menders,” and everyone who tries to repair time leaves behind an indelible mark...

From the clock towers of steam-age London to the quantum clock towers of a cybernetic future; from ancient priestly sundial rituals to the spacetime hubs of interstellar colonies, countless lives are intertwined by this pendulum. But the greatest danger has never been time falling apart. It is the people who believe they can control it.

(P.S. I’m a new novelist. Thank you for opening this book. Each volume unfolds as an episodic story. Feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions. I hope you enjoy it.)
