1937: Spy Fires in Nanjing

In the winter of 1937, Nanjing fell, and the gates of hell swung open. Under the Japanese army’s iron hooves, 300,000 lives were plunged into misery, and the entire city became a hellscape of blood and fire. Yet amid the ruins and shadows, a silent resistance began to spread.

Liu Bingsheng, an underground Communist Party member, uses his cover as a clerk in the safety zone to secretly build an intelligence network. Fluent in Japanese and exceptionally resourceful, he walks a knife’s edge under the close surveillance of Ito Kenji, an officer in the Japanese secret police: secretly photographing evidence of massacres, rescuing key personnel, passing on Japanese military intelligence, and even planning precision sabotage. Together with his comrades, including Su Wanqing, a teacher at Jinling Women’s College, Lao Zhou, a rickshaw puller, and the boy “Little Stone,” he puts his beliefs into practice, an ordinary man kindling a spark amid despair.

This is the ultimate clash of intellect and will: disguise and discovery, traps and counterattacks, sacrifice and steadfastness. When the truth is buried beneath a veil of blood, heroes choose to wield the shadows as a blade, leaving history irrefutable evidence that cannot be rewritten and preserving a spirit that will never surrender.

Based on true history. This story is dedicated to those nameless souls who illuminated the abyss in its darkest hour.
