Gu Bide, Zhu Tianba, Liu Haoding, and Luo Zhenhai work for a Hong Kong film company. One day, they receive an assignment from their general manager, Luotesi, to travel to Southeast Asia for a film promotion. The four pack their bags and set off. Once they arrive in Nanyang, their promotional work goes smoothly, and everything is going according to plan. Then Gu Bide spots an ancient temple. He thinks that since he believes in the gods too, he might as well pay his respects now that he’s here. He calls the others over, and they all go inside to worship the ancient statue of a god.
After they finish, Gu Bide looks up and notices an old donation box beside the statue. A yellow talisman is stuck to it. The other three are southerners, and none of them dares step forward to tear it off. Liu Haoding, a northerner who doesn’t believe in such things, strides up and rips off the talisman. “It’s a donation box, so why’s there a talisman stuck on it? What kind of nonsense is that? Are they messing with people?” Gu Bide casually pulls out a hundred-dollar bill and drops it into the old box. The other three follow suit, each donating fifty dollars.
But as the four of them leave the ancient temple, they unwittingly release the Ghost King. After returning to Hong Kong, strange things keep happening to them, until the arrival of the vengeful ghosts
