After an assassination attempt on Chennault's personal plane, Ouyang, head of an intelligence team, and members Ma Yunfei, Gao Han, and others match wits with Sakai and his Japanese agents. They uncover Sakai's schemes, expose the mole Luo Te, and weather crisis after crisis, stopping repeated acts of sabotage and doing everything they can to protect key figures and vital facilities in the war effort.
