The Many Affairs of the City God

As a yin-yang agent, I was forced to take over the City God's mess. On a stormy night, I went to collect a body. When I lifted the white sheet, I found the same living person I'd seen three days earlier, a cinnabar mark on his forehead burning bright. A headless statue in a ruined temple seeped blood day and night. Scratching sounds came from inside the morgue drawer. Following the dirt on the dead man's shoes, I dug up a mass murder from thirty years ago.
