Great Tang Detective: From the Start, I’m Stuck with a Major Case

Pei Jiulang, a former assistant judge at the Dali Temple who is now middle-aged, returns to Chang'an after a bizarre murder involving a flayed face. The golden-ratio cuts behind each corpse's ears, the Fibonacci spacing between their ribs, Persian gold dust in their nail polish, mandala patterns in their throat cartilage, and golden spirals formed by their palm lines all point to an unsolved mystery from the scripture translation site where Xuanzang worked twenty years ago. Teaming up with Su Hexiang, a cool and aloof female coroner, and with help from Shen Tianfang, a highly skilled constable, Pei Jiulang follows the clues to unravel one shocking conspiracy after another. Crown Prince Li Xian quietly supports him from behind the scenes, making his investigation easier. As they dig deeper, they uncover an even greater secret, closely tied to historical mysteries such as the missing fragments of Xuanzang's pilgrimage map and the coded stone tablets in the underground palace of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. Can Pei Jiulang uncover the truth and bring peace back to Chang'an? A thrilling investigation begins.
