You Were Supposed to Be Background Fodder on a Dating Show, but You and Xiao Tian Stole the Spotlight

Host: Have you ever been in a relationship? What kind of person do you like?

Xu Cheng: A relationship? Never been in one.

Host: You're so handsome. It's hard to believe you've never dated.

Xu Cheng: "Well, let me put it this way. I like all kinds of racing cars. If I spend money to buy one, I only get to try out one car."

"But if I spend that money renting cars instead, I can try all sorts of racing cars."

"I could ride a nimble little motorcycle today, then drive a powerful sports car tomorrow."

"Once I've had enough of both, I can switch to an old A8."

After waking up, Xu Chen transmigrates to a parallel world and becomes an entertainer on the verge of leaving the industry. By a twist of fate, he gets shoved into a dating show called Starting with Love, where he is paired with the popular post-95-born starlet Tian Xiwei.

He was only supposed to be a low-profile background character. He thought he would leave the entertainment industry once this gig was over, never suspecting that the gears of fate had started turning.

Other couples have dates so sweet they make your teeth ache, but when it comes to Xu Cheng and Tian Xiwei, things take a wildly unexpected turn.

Tian Xiwei: They say wishes made under a shooting star come true. Guess what I just wished for?

Xu Cheng: Are you sure making a wish on a satellite rocket works?

Tian Xiwei: Since we've already gotten so... intimately acquainted, how about we study physics together tonight?

Xu Cheng: Just say it. What are you plotting against me this time? A massage costs 888. No credit!

Hilarious netizens: Another day of Brother Cheng turning everything on its head by refusing to follow the script.
