Devour the Primordial World and Rewrite the Journey to the West

The Sichuan natives Yi Bufan and Liu Ping are eating skewers at a roadside stall one moment, and the next, some strange force has dragged them into a world full of bizarre nonsense. They look up and see Sun Wukong fighting Erlang Shen in the sky. The local Earth God pokes his head out of the ground and declares them “Chosen Scapegoats.” Before Yi Bufan can even take out his phone, an unbearably noisy System appears in his head, ordering him to become Tang Sanzang’s bodyguard and straighten out all the unruly gods and demons. This place is seriously weird. Ancient monsters from the primordial era are on brotherly terms with Journey to the West’s demons, and the Jade Emperor has less say than the local Earth God. Hoping to just complete their mission in peace? No chance! The rewards from the System are either junk or traps. Liu Ping, on the other hand, can talk to rocks and even tell if the White Bone Demon is lying. To survive, they have to be slipperier than the demons and better at putting on an act than the gods. With an unfinished skewer in his mouth, Yi Bufan surveys the chaos unfolding across the Three Realms and figures that, rather than correcting the story, they might as well turn the whole mess upside down. They’ve already transmigrated, after all. If they don’t make a big splash, would that do justice to their Sichuan spirit?
