In this ordinary, seemingly peaceful world, there lived a young man named Su Chen. He had neither a distinguished family background nor astonishing talent. Like an ordinary speck of dust lost in a vast crowd, he assumed he would follow the path most people took and live out his life in mediocrity.
The future he imagined was simple and uneventful. At the right age, he would meet the right person, get married, have children, and start an ordinary little family. He would work a nine-to-five job for someone else, toil to afford life’s daily necessities, grow old slowly as the years flowed by, and eventually reach the end of his life. As far as he knew, this was the story fate had written for him: nothing grand or earth-shattering, just an everyday life as calm as still water.
Yet the wheels of fate are always turning quietly when no one notices. In Su Chen’s senior year of high school, an unprecedented disaster struck without warning. Like a boulder thrown into a tranquil lake, it shattered the peace in an instant and completely changed the course of Su Chen’s life. The world was transformed beyond recognition. The old order was broken, and new challenges came one after another.
A slow-paced story with a slow-blooming protagonist. He isn’t a transmigrator, and like most people, he’ll feel lost at times. But this is the story of his life.
