As a Ghost Reaper, I Treat Horror Movies Like Dungeons

I worked myself to death pulling 996 shifts, only to become a low-ranking ghost officer in the underworld.

I thought I’d landed a secure job, but it turned out the underworld had gone bankrupt ages ago.

The gods and Buddhas had vanished, the Underworld Bureau was in decline, and my coworkers were fighting tooth and nail over every last bit of merit.

But I, Jiang Che, unexpectedly activated the [Abnormal Mental Domain Purification System].

Wait… My beginner dungeon is The Ring? And my purification target is Sadako?!

The horror movies I used to watch for entertainment in my previous life have all become my personal experience farms!

While other ghost officers are running themselves ragged over trivial supernatural incidents,

I’m already having a “friendly chat” with Kayako in Ju-On and a “heart-to-heart” with Pyramid Head in Silent Hill.

While my coworkers scrimp and save for most of their lives to afford a single magical artifact,

I’m in the System shop debating whether to exchange points for a Gatling Bodhisattva or a physical-exorcism Big Pineapple.

Years later, when I take office as the new King of Hell and look down at the countless gods and Buddhas bowing before me,

all I want to say is: thank you, directors. Your movies aren’t movies, they’re the steps that made me a god!
