After I Turned into a Cat-Eared Knight, My Best Friend Made a Move on Me

Gender swap + comedy + absurdity + battles + gender-bender romance (slow-paced)

Yong Xiaoqi is the youngest S-rank hero in the Eastern Continent Federation, known as the Imperial Knight. Clad in golden-red armor, he was once a tough guy who struck fear into the hearts of Shadow Eclipsers. But an accident forced him into a magical contract, and his default form became Xuerong, a white-haired, cat-eared cutie. Beneath that adorable exterior, though, he still has the heart of a straight guy.

With his territory peaceful, he hopes to slack off, but his good buddy Azhe won’t leave him alone. From pretending to be Azhe’s girlfriend to appease his parents, to being forced to record ASMR and make cute videos, his straight-guy soul struggles again and again inside a catgirl’s body. When a giant monster appears in the western part of the city, he can’t resist transforming into the Imperial Knight to fight it, only to have the PR department dock his pay afterward. Azhe’s wall full of Xuerong merchandise leaves him both embarrassed and furious, yet he blushes when Azhe teases him that “turning a bro into a goddess makes him easier to hit on.”

From the chaos of meeting the parents to the hilarious mishaps at the bathhouse, from the fiery thrill of fighting monsters side by side to the warmth of their everyday bickering, this curious transformation between tough guy and catgirl is full of lively, everyday charm. As Azhe’s gaze slowly shifts from brotherly affection to something else, and Yong Xiaoqi grows used to having his tail stroked and ears poked, the two will come to understand that whether he wears the Imperial Knight’s armor or Xuerong’s soft fur, the warmest thing of all is the person by his side.
