In 1981, Ye Chen married into the Jia family, where he was treated like a useless coward!
His mother was dying of terminal liver cancer and had no money for treatment. Then the street thug Xu Damao beat and humiliated Ye Chen, driving him to the brink of despair!
At death's door, the ancestral Tai Chi jade unleashed the power to reverse life and death: command life and death, master medicine and martial arts! Once a nobody, now he could rise to the heavens in a single leap!
Who crippled his enemies? I, Ye Chen! Who brought his terminally ill mother back to life? I, Ye Chen!
But just after he kicked Xu Damao, that vicious wolf, to the ground, his mother-in-law, Qin Huairu, bared her fangs at his throat!
“Three days! Five thousand yuan for your life!”
If he couldn't pay, she would tie him up and feed him to the Xu family, then throw his mother into the moat and leave her to fend for herself!
Surrounded by wolves in the courtyard and trapped by a cruel, venomous mother-in-law, how could a son-in-law living under his wife's roof fight his way out of this hellish start?
Watch Ye Chen wield the jade of life and death and storm the gates of the underworld. In a 1980s courtyard, he'll punch his way through wolves, jackals, tigers, and leopards, kick aside every demon and fiend, and stage an incredible comeback that will leave everyone speechless!
