Haunted House Sleep Tester: Case File No. 0

[Realistic survival + haunted-house horror + a battle of wits and human nature + one male lead]

Bankrupt and tens of millions in debt, Lin Mo is forced to work as an overnight tester in haunted houses.

A rotting face floats in a leaking bathtub, marbles roll in the attic amid a child's sobs, and a reflection in the wardrobe mirror locks a hand around his throat… The eerie rules are death sentences: look in the mirror at midnight, and always answer a knock. But compared with ruthless loan sharks, what are ghosts?

His overnight stays reveal something even more evil about human nature: insurance fraud and parricide, using the supernatural to swallow up property. Even missing overnight testers lead to a sinister criminal network.

When bloody handprints seal off his escape, he finally understands: debt and greed devour people even more mercilessly than ghosts.

Don't ask about him late at night. He's in a haunted house, gambling with the evil spirit in the mirror over who will blink first…
