The Discarded Prince: From Exile to Ruler of the Universe

Xiao Che was enfeoffed as Prince of Shuofang at the age of sixteen. On the day he left the capital, snow and wind filled the sky.

The old eunuch who had come to see him off casually tossed him the patent of investiture and imperial seal, sneering, “The emperor has shown you grace. Take care of yourself, Your Highness.”

He bent down to retrieve the muddy patent and seal, only to hear cruel remarks from behind him: “Banished to the bitter cold northern frontier, bordering the Xiongnu? He probably won’t live through this winter!”

Ten years later, at a grand banquet in Chang'an,

envoys from every nation prostrated themselves and cried, “Heavenly Khan!”

His once-scornful elder brother trembled. “Seventh Brother, back then...”

Xiao Che looked down at the rulers of the various nations, tiny as ants beneath his feet, and smiled calmly.

“The world deserves a new way of life.”
