The Philippines and China are separated by a narrow strip of water and live side by side. They have had frequent exchanges in history and there are abundant records in ancient Chinese books. However, in a true historical sense, Chinese research on Philippine history is still very weak. The Philippines not only has an important geostrategic position, but also has the cultural characteristics of "neither East nor West, but both East and West." Promoting Philippine history research in the new era will not only enrich the understanding of Philippine history, but also help Chinese academic circles to use the transformation of international Philippine history research to make China's voice heard in the historical research of developing countries, especially neighboring countries.
