The Taotie Journey: A Thousand Years in Search of Millions

The world beneath our feet has never been a place where the dead rest in peace.

It holds the rust of bronze cauldrons, the gleam of gold and jade, the dreams of emperors, and countless grudges and hatreds.

Some seek wealth, some fame, and some immortality. Carrying lanterns and gripping knives, they plunge into the darkness, gambling their lives for the secrets buried beneath the earth.

But they all fear one man.

A young man who always looks to be in his twenties, carrying a meteorite-iron blade capable of suppressing every evil spirit, silently traversing ancient tombs from every dynasty.

Most who have seen him have become bones, gone mad, or grown old. As they approach the end of their lives, they murmur to their grandchildren: “He isn’t human... He’s the Grim Reaper who crawled back from hell.”

Women love him, love him to the point of madness, yet they can’t even win a glance from him. His heart is harder than the ice of the Kunlun glaciers and colder than the sands of the great desert.

No one knows his name is Ye Lingfeng. Fewer still know that he has crossed countless mountains and rivers and braved a hundred deadly tombs, not for treasure, but to recover the memories stolen by time.

The blood of Taotie boils within him. His slumber, once every hundred years, is both a curse and a cycle of reincarnation.

Like a ghost, he wanders between forgetting and searching.

Beneath the earth lie not only treasures, but also the shattered pieces of his past and an answer bound up in “eternal life” and “the end.”

This time, he wakes and opens his eyes inside a coffin. His blade is hungry.

And in the darkness, countless eyes are watching his back.
