Dragon Raja VI: Shadows Unburned

[Dragon Raja fanfic sequel + ⚠️Warning: major characters from the original work die⚠️ + written to resemble Jiang Nan's original style as much as possible + everyday life and absurdity + the new generation and the old guard + ensemble cast]

“The world no longer needs heroes who slay dragons, but we still have to keep eating roasted pork knuckles.”, Fingel von Frings

The final battle thirteen years ago buried the Black King, Nidhogg, and far too many names.

Lu Mingfei is now an associate professor of dragon taxonomy at Cassell College. His lesson plans burst into flames, his performance bonuses never materialize, and every so often he gets hopelessly drunk in the cafeteria with Fingel and Caesar, pretending he can still live as carefree as he did when he was young.

Then a new student named Huang Yuhuan is assigned to his supervision

This seemingly warm and cheerful boy carries a certain familiar quality that leaves Lu Mingfei feeling dazed.

Meanwhile, Chen Junyi, the “key” raised by the Equipment Department, quietly enrolls; Veronica Di Fazio, heir to an Italian dragon-slaying family of mixed-bloods, closes in step by step; and Xiao Yiyu, a Chinese girl with a mysterious background, appears...

The ghosts of the past have never left. They have only silently rusted away at the present.

And perhaps even the future.

After the legend comes to an end, how are the survivors supposed to carry on?

⚠️Reader warning: includes memories of Lu/Erii, Chu/Xia, Caesar/Nono, and the two Zeroes, but there are no romantic pairings in the main plot.
