Journey to the West: I Revealed My Saintly Identity to Save the Monkey

I kept a low profile for one billion and eighty million years. I, Gu Lingtian, have the bloodline of a Chaos Demon God, and my cultivation is nearly on par with the Heavenly Dao! Just as I was about to reach perfection in the Great Dao, I saw my only junior brother, Sun Wukong, pinned beneath Five-Finger Mountain, tears of despair streaming down his face. Damn it, no more keeping a low profile! My Dao Heart, shattered! From then on, my whole style changed! Want to repair my shattered “Dao of Keeping a Low Profile”? Sure, just put on a show! The more convincing the act, the richer the rewards! Guanyin shows up? I instantly switch to “timid and cowardly” mode, cowering behind Wukong and trembling! Demons attack? One moment I’m crying, “Junior Brother, run! We can’t beat this monster!” The next, I’m slapping the demon and its backers into a daze when nobody’s looking! All the gods and Buddhas in the heavens think I’m a good-for-nothing who got lucky and hitched himself to Sun Wukong. Only I know that in this grand Journey to the West, I’m the real director!
