The Lazy Fish Turns the Tide: The Regent Queen Starts by Selling Salt

After working 996 hours and dropping dead in her previous life, Shen Xiao is reborn as a merchant's daughter whose engagement has been broken off.

On her wedding day, she runs away right down the street, taking her former in-laws' most expensive Ferghana horse with her.

She opens a salt shop, takes on crooked merchants, and builds a trade association, making her business thrive.

The aloof heir to a noble title is always loitering outside her shop, while the miracle-working physician follows her around every day, asking, “Can this thing be eaten?”

She only wanted to lie flat and live as a rich woman in ancient times. But on his deathbed, the old emperor entrusts his heir to her care.

The old foxes at court are waiting to see her make a fool of herself. She responds by pulling out the salt-tax ledgers.

“Honored officials, shall we first discuss the few million taels you've embezzled?”

Later, everyone in court knows that Shen Xiao's salt can add flavor, but it can also cost you your life.
