The Jacaranda Never Bloomed Again

Some youthful loves are destined to be tempered in tears and made eternal by regret.

Gu Yanche's world crumbled into silent ashes during the season when the jacarandas bloomed and withered. The lingering warmth of a winter's day at the milk tea shop remained on his fingertips, but he could never again reach the girl who stood on tiptoe, her smiling eyes curved like little moons.

She was Lin Wan, the only light in his cold life. But fate wove a web of misunderstandings, hidden burdens, and silence, binding them tight. Every time they drew closer, they hurt each other more deeply. Every time one turned away, another wound was left that could never heal.

Self-respect and deep love pulled them in opposite directions. Explanations left unspoken rotted in their hearts, while the truth, arriving too late, carried the power to destroy. When the purple romance of the jacarandas faded into a cold backdrop, and the wish "May you be safe and happy, and may the years ahead bring you peace" became the cruelest irony, only then did they understand:

Love at seventeen could burn so fiercely, and the scars left at seventeen could last a lifetime.

This is a requiem for youth, devoted to the most exquisite pain. When love is toyed with by fate, when communication is blocked layer upon layer, when loss becomes the only ending, all those regrets left unresolved and all those feelings never shared will become embers that never die out, scorching those left behind in every season when the jacarandas bloom.
