Courier Qi Lin’s life completely falls apart on the day he dreams of his own death for the thirty-seventh time. A crack appears out of nowhere in his left iris, his phone lights up at exactly 3:24 a.m., and every dream ends with the same scene of death. He starts to suspect it cannot be a coincidence, until he touches a package addressed to him. The sender’s name, “Chen Mo,” is the same as that of the indistinct figure who pushes him to his death in his dreams.
Before the warning in the letter has even had time to sink in, agony erupts in his left eye, and countless unfamiliar fragments of death flood his mind: a car crash on a bridge in a downpour, a falling billboard, a hotel room where someone suffocates... Every death ends at exactly 3:24. Chen Mo’s handwriting is as sharp as a blade: “This isn’t a nightmare. It’s the beginning of a cycle of a million deaths. Next time, on the cross-river bridge in three days.”
To break the cycle, Qi Lin follows Chen Mo’s clues, only to discover that this mysterious person disappeared six months ago and even his ID details are forged. All he left behind is a mark covered in cracks shaped like eyes. Stranger still, everyone Qi Lin meets in the cycle seems oddly familiar, as though he has met them before, and even his own memories are beginning to develop hazy gaps.
Should he save himself, or escape a fate controlled by someone else? As the lines of death seen through his left eye draw closer, Qi Lin realizes that the person he may need to watch most carefully in this cycle is “himself.” After all, no one knows how many times the “Qi Lin” alive now has already made it past 3:24.
