(No System) (Not a wish-fulfillment power fantasy) (Not nationalistic)
Dedicated to all the unheard cries in the universe
Beneath the magnificent canvas of stars burning cold, the wail of any individual is no more than a silent speck of dust. This is no heroic epic of cosmic salvation, but a desperate record of echoes from an immense abyss, composed of tragic stories that stand alone yet are bound together by cold logic. It tears away the skin of the galaxy's dreams, exposing beneath it the steel heart of the Cosmic Defense Organization (CDO), and the nameless souls consumed and ground down by that heart.
When you look up at the interstellar news and see a remote planet miraculously survive its imminent annihilation by the void, or a rogue subspace plague nest precisely wiped out, you may be seeing only the tip of the iceberg of the CDO's “achievements.” It is vast and secretive, its technology far beyond imagination. Hidden observation posts spread like a web across countless planets. Its core creed is cold and efficient: “Save the lives worth saving before destruction arrives.” Yet the standard for what is “worth saving” hangs like a blade over one's head, determined by a merciless logical algorithm. Its salvation is never selfless. The price has already been set in the dark.
