East: A Sibling Journey Through Their Encounter with Gensokyo

A blend of canon and fanon, an ensemble cast, no overpowered protagonist early on, and possibly multiple heroines?

What does it mean to live a life?

Where do people go after death? Do they enter the next cycle of reincarnation, or simply vanish without a trace?

As the eldest son of his clan, Kamishiro Genmei had always sought answers to these questions.

Looking back at everything that had passed, then at the fantastical beauty of the present, what should one choose?

Break the cycle of reincarnation, destroy the illusion, defeat the gods: what was it all for? For his friends, for his family, and, above all, for every living thing on earth.

After enduring twenty-four cycles of reincarnation, Kamishiro Genmei concealed his wounds and strode straight along the vine-covered stone steps before him, heading into the distance, toward that beautiful Gensokyo.

Command spirits, see through illusions, become a god! Looking back from the end of the road, he had thought no one was beside him, only to find a host of friends and family who loved him deeply.

Perhaps a little too deeply. Some had even developed rather troubling ideas... enough to leave him somewhat troubled...

But there were plenty of other things troubling him, too... things that began after he learned of his clan's plans...

After learning about Gensokyo from his “other half,” he discovered that reality was somewhat different.

Tang Xuanming, the Unknown Sage, the “Tower,” the truth about the Kamishiro clan, the Mystic Realm... where had all these things come from?

“...Yukari Yakumo, what do you make of this?”

“Oh my~ Before asking that, perhaps you should ask yourself~”

In any case, he was about to be troubled by it all over again.
