I, the Empress, Conquered a Turbulent Age with a Silly System

Ji Lipei is dropped straight into hell mode: her identity as a woman has just been exposed, powerful ministers are forcing her to abdicate, a vassal prince seizes the chance to rebel, and northern tribesmen are shouting that they want to "take the little empress alive."

Bound to the [System for Thriving in Troubled Times], her first mission is: "Perform a rap for all the officials in the Golden Throne Hall. The theme is 'I Can Do It.'" The reward is a "Newbie Gift Pack," containing "a dragon robe that won't fall off" and "a playing-dumb look that never fails."

She grits her teeth and completes the mission, using her ridiculously catchy rap and shameless act of playing dumb to temporarily stabilize the situation. The officials complain that "the empress has gone mad," but some neutral officials unexpectedly think she's "kind of interesting."

The System's mission level-ups: "Send a box of durian to the rebel leader, with a handwritten sticky note saying 'Surrender and you won't be killed.'" Upon completion, she receives a "secret recipe for making durian bombs."

Using durian bombs and her tried-and-true act of playing dumb, Ji Lipei drives back the first wave of rebels and establishes a foothold in the capital. She also recruits her first "mom fan": the loyal old eunuch Li Fuquan, who later becomes her "chief commander of ridiculous mission execution."
